Morning News commemorates the 100th birthday of Eliot Ness with a look back at his time as safety director for the city of Cleveland; also, a talk with the producer of The 14th Victim, a documentary on Cleveland’s Kingsbury Run murders of the 1930s. China Trade
The “Made in China” label used to carry the reputation of cheaply made, poor quality goods. But that image is changing as the list of Chinese-made goods coming to America is now almost endless. It’s been a good for consumers who enjoy low prices. Business managers are also happy with the arrangement. Lower manufacturing costs equal higher profits. Besides that, many say they’re forced to use foreign factories because their competitors are doing the same thing. But at least one group is unhappy. ideastream’s Mike West reports that some workers say the Chinese are taking their jobs.

Scientific Ignorance as a Way of Life

Acclaimed author, lecturer, teacher, and Chairman of the Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University, Professor Lawrence M. Krauss is internationally known as a theoretical physicist. Earlier this year, Professor Krauss was the keynote speaker at the American Association for the Advancement of Science's February meeting. The topic of Professor Krauss' talk was Scientific Ignorance as a Way of Life. Professor Krauss used a slideshow presentation during his talk, and those slides may viewed by clicking here.
